Thu Aug 21, 2008 at 03:38:14 PM PDT

Due to all of the cries from the wingnuts that Barack Obama's birth certificate was a forgery, Factcheck.org has sent it's investigators to Chicago to actually, physically view Obama's birth certificate.

What they had to say, below the fold.

New Search Engine Thwarts FISA?

Mon Jul 28, 2008 at 11:36:56 AM PDT

There's a new kid in town. It's call Cuil (pronounced cool) which was created by former Google engineers Tom Costello and his wife Ann Patterson and Danny Sullivan, also joined by Russell Power and Louis Monier. (Monier of eBay search, AltaVista and BabelFish fame)

It claims to provide much faster lookups than the usual search services.

But what got me was their privacy policy.

"At least I don't plaster on the makeup like a trollop..." Might be more than it looks

Sat Jul 19, 2008 at 10:18:41 AM PDT

A blogger in my local paper, Aubrey Marron, wrote today with some awesome insight tying John McCain's comment against Cindy McCain's makeup wearing habits, her addiction to pain killers, and how it might all tie into John McCain, the tortured "war hero".

It's an excellent, yet scary read. What initially looks like yet another opinion of McCain's nasty screed against Cindy, it's much better. It is a look at Cindy McCain's drug abuse in a different light.

Fri Jun 13, 2008 at 04:29:32 PM PDT

"No self-respecting woman should wish or work for the success of a party that ignores her - that's by Susan B. Anthony,"

Where have we seen this quote before?  Any guesses?  hillaryis44 perhaps?  Yep.

Noquarter?  Yeah.

All of them.  It's been their Mantra.

Well, it's also been Debra Bartoshevich's mantra.  She's become a Clinton Dead-Ender. Why is this a big deal?  She's a pledged delegate from WI.  Even better, she plans on voting McCain in November.

Alegre Answers the call to come home

Sun Jun 08, 2008 at 10:24:50 AM PDT

In her noble attempt to call Hillary supporters to come back to Dkos, much respected blogger nyceve posted this diary, Come back Alegre, come back Hillary supporters, to mixed reviews.

Many people felt that, while Alegre was an excellent blogger, and fierce Clinton supporter, she could be just as formidable an Obama supporter, once she came back into the fold and accepted him as our Democratic Nominee.

Fox "News" gets away with more Faux Reporting

Wed Jun 04, 2008 at 04:59:13 PM PDT

Fox News was named in a lawsuit that was dismissed in Lewiston, Maine, in which the hosts of "Fox and Friends" reported, as fact, a parody of a prank perpetrated on Somali Muslim students in April, 2007.

::

Newsday.com

The case was an outgrowth of an April 2007 prank in which a middle school student tossed a slab of leftover Easter ham onto a table surrounded by Somali Muslim youngsters, knowing the Muslims would be offended. Muslims consider pork unclean.

Oh. My. Gawd.

Tue Jun 03, 2008 at 05:39:06 PM PDT

Howard Fineman is reporting on MSNBC right now, saying that Obama would consider offering Hillary the VP slot, but ONLY.  ONLY... if she refuses it.

"These people are truly f'd-in-the-head. Mentally ill, even." Updated

Sat May 31, 2008 at 05:35:52 PM PDT

A quote by a commenter here: here

Here's the full quote, for your viewing pleasure:

I truly believe that HRC's female supporters . .
of the type that Brazille is describing are fucking nutcases.

They have lost all sense of proportion and judgment, to the point that their desire for some kind of "feminist" vindication in seeing a woman as President has become a warped obsession that has blinded them to every other issue at stake.  Yes, it would be nice to see a female president.

[snipped for brevity]

These people are truly fucked-in-the-head.  (And that's an understatement.)  They are nutsos.  Wackos.  Mentally ill, even.

In fact, they share a similar pathology to Bush's hardcore supporters.

In my book, they're sick in the head and they need to be treated as such.

Why this pisses me off, and it should for you too, down there.

Florida court throws out suit against DNC

Wed May 28, 2008 at 09:16:16 AM PDT

CNN

A Florida court threw out a lawsuit Wednesday challenging the Democratic Party's decision not to seat delegates from Florida — as litigants prepared to appeal the case to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Political consultant Victor DiMaio and his lawyer Michael Steinberg had compared the party's decision to earlier prohibitions against allowing African-Americans to vote and invoked the trauma of the Florida recount in the 2000 contest between Al Gore and George W. Bush, both arguments also used by Hillary Clinton to support the seating of the state’s delegates

[UPDATEDx5] Disabled Activists Arrested at McCain's Washington Office & RNC Staff in 9 hour standoff

Thu May 01, 2008 at 07:41:42 PM PDT

Twenty disabled activists for ADAPT, a disability rights organizatoin, await processing after arrest at Senator McCain's Washington Office this week.

 title=

AP Story via CBS News

At least 20 disabled activists, most of them in wheelchairs, were arrested outside Sen. John McCain's offices Tuesday after being refused a meeting with the GOP presidential nominee-to-be over a bill to expand Medicaid coverage to more people who want in-home care.

Cassie James, an Organizer with ADAPT of Pennsylvania, says:

"I don't get it, Sen. McCain's website says 'There is no cause greater than protection of human dignity.' We were at his office asking him to partner with us to protect OUR human dignity by supporting legislation that allows all older and disabled Americans to live in their own homes instead of being forced into nursing homes where all dignity and personal privacy are lost. This is not rocket science; it's basic human and civil rights!"

McCain: "Reject the 'siren song of protectionism' and embrace free trade"

Wed Apr 23, 2008 at 02:52:16 PM PDT

Yep, that's what he said in his "Forgotten America" tour. He utteed these words while standing in front of a factory that is essentially shut down, to it's five remaining workers, cut from 100, and residents of Youngstown, OH.

During a town-hall meeting in Youngstown, former local labor leader Jack O'Connell stood to denounce NAFTA as a "bad four letters."

McCain jokingly pointed out that NAFTA in fact is composed of five letters, though O'Connell seemed to be equating it to a "four-letter word," as in a curse word.

Ha.. ha ha... hooo, that McCain, he's a funny one, alright.

Fri Apr 04, 2008 at 11:39:33 AM PDT

The Lansing State Urinal Journal (the daily newspaper of Michigan's capitol city) has a poll between McShame and Obama.  My guess is, the paper is trying to determine if he really is "Unelectable"

Daily news poll

The Democratic presidential nominee has not yet been selected. But, if the choice for president were between these two candidates, who would get your vote?

It currently stands at 50/50.  This is one paper most assuredly read by the Legistlators and Supers.

Hillary Calls For End to Electoral College

Mon Mar 24, 2008 at 01:10:35 PM PDT

ALBANY, New York, Nov. 20, 2000

"We are a very different country than we were 200 years ago," Clinton said. "I believe strongly that in a democracy, we should respect the will of the people and to me, that means it's time to do away with the Electoral College and move to the popular election of our president."

The first lady also said that because of the closeness of this year's presidential election, "I hope no one is ever in doubt again about whether their vote counts."

Well, that was, of course, when she was against it, before she was for it.
